We are glad you are considering dance! Over 45 years ago a standard of excellence began in Hampton Roads. What has now become a fully Professional Company and Academy has at its roots a dedicated and talented staff of teachers, dancers and professionals. Over 200 alumni from Virginia Ballet Theatre Academy, formerly known as The Tidewater Ballet Association, have gone on to professional careers with such noted companies as The New York City Ballet, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Cleveland/San Jose Ballet and The Nashville Ballet.

*Creative Dance:
An exploratory class designed to promote basic motor skills development while teaching, coordination, music appreciation. A great first class!
      *Pre-Ballet:
Introduction to basic ballet techniques through beginning barre and center work. Foundation classes emphasizing proper posture, coordination, music awareness, and basic ballet movements.
        *Ballet I:
Class is designed to present a foundation in proper ballet technique using more barre and center work. Emphasizes promoting a good work attitude while promoting self confidence.
 Cost: $169/semester or 3 installments of $56. Additional classes: $55/class per semester.

 *Ballet IA & IB:
At this levels students will be offered a well structured and disciplined ballet classes. Students will continue focusing on building strength, coordination and flexibility with a strong emphasis on terminology, musicality, proper technique and correct body placement. Placement in to this level must be approved by instructor.
 Cost: $297/semester or 3 installments of $99. Additional classes: $50/class per semester.
